North Lakes is a suburb in the Moreton Bay Region, Queensland and located approximately 26 km north of the Brisbane central business district. A family-focussed suburb with all the convenience and facilities of a bustling city.
The suburb predominately comprises newly developed housing estates around the North Lakes Golf Course.
Lake Eden is situated within the suburb of North Lakes and is surrounded by a public park that features many waterbirds and other wildlife. Amenities at the lakeside park include a café, children’s playground and walking track.
There are numerous private and public schools in North Lakes, including The Lakes College, which was ranked in the list of Queensland’s Top 10, OP 1-5 Schools for 2016. There is also the North Lakes State College, which is ranked as a P-3 college. Bounty Boulevard State School services prep to year six students. For private schools, there is St. Benedict’s School, which is just outside the North Lakes precinct.
There is a good bus service within North Lakes and trains can be caught from nearby Petrie.
The suburb includes parklands, schools and shops. The large Westfield shopping centre has over 200 stores, including the IKEA superstore, Woolworths, Target and other major retailers. North Lakes is the first suburb in Queensland to house the international wholesale Store Costco.
The newly opened North Lakes Sports Club opened in 2016 and has become the ‘go to’ place for family dining and entertainment.
The median house price is $488,000 with annual capital growth at 1.93%. Number of sales for 2017 is 432. Median price for units is $416,000 with annual capital growth of 3.85%. Number of sales in 2017 is 100.
